Lawn Maintenance

  • Mowing starts before we arrive by making sure our blades are sharp and the mowers are working at peak performance to deliver a nice clean cut every time. We mow in straight lines and change directions weekly to prevent wear spots in your lawn.

  • Next we Trim around the whole perimeter of the lawn as well as around anything within the lawn such as beds and trees or sections of lawn the mower cannot reach. This ensures all of your grass is cut to the same height.

  • Every 2-3 mows we will also Edge along any hard surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, and concrete lawn edging. This keeps those edges looking sharp and clean as well as preventing grass from growing out and overtaking those surfaces.

  • Last we will Blow off all the hard surfaces around your lawn to make sure they are clean and free of grass clippings.

Lawn Core Aeration

Core Aeration is where we use a machine to pull 2"-3" of soil called cores or plugs out of your lawn. You may have seen this at a park or sports field before. To be frank they look like dog turds scattered throughout the grass. At least that's what I thought they were as a kid. Ewww. The purpose and benefit of this service is to reduce ground compaction while allowing vital nutrients, water, and oxygen to penetrate deeper into the soil. This encourage the grass roots to grow deeper and thicker leaving you with a lawn that is more attractive, disease/ pest resistant, and drought tolerant.

Fertilization

Fertilization is the act of adding nutrients to your lawn through a granular or liquid form. We use Granular. Your soil provides some of the nutrients that your grass needs but not enough for optimal growth and health. Fertilizer makes your grass more attractive and thicker. Thicker grass is more disease and pest resistant and yes that includes weeds. The thicker your grass is the less likely it is to allow weeds to take root. Last off lets be honest, we live in a desert!! Your grass can use all the help it can get.

*Pair with aerating to help drive those nutrients deeper into soil for better root development.

Overseeding

Overseeding is adding grass seed to your existing lawn to promote thicker grass as well as repair bare and struggling sections of your lawn. Some grass types such as Kentucky Blue Grass can spread and fix bare spots on their own using rhizomes, but this takes time and you want your lawn looking good now! Other grass types such as Tall Fescue are a clump grass types and will not spread without getting super tall. Overseeding clump grasses is necessary to repair bare spots and thicken grass as most lawns will never get tall enough to seed on their own. Thicker lawns are more attractive, disease/ pest resistant, and drought tolerant.

*This service is typically paired with aerating to ensure the seed makes good contact with the soil.
