Yard Cleanup

Pruning (Natural Look)

Pruning is selectively cutting branches out of bushes and trees with hand pruners or loppers. This is the "proper" way to reduce size, shape, and promote new growth. This method initially takes longer and requires some knowledge making it a higher priced service but needs to be done less often than hedging. We start by removing any dead, damaged, and diseased branches. Next we will remove any crossing branches that are rubbing together and branches that are growing in towards the center instead of out. Last we will reduce height, thin out, and shape. We are able to remove about 1/3 of the bush without damaging it. We will remove more than this if instructed by the customer but will not take responsibility if the plant dies as a result. We then will collect and haul away the debris.

Hedging (Uniform Look)

Hedging is using a gas or electric trimmer (shown to the left) to shear the tips of a bush into a uniform shape such as a cube, sphere, or an elephant (we do not do animals). This method is quicker and cheaper per service but will need to be done more often than pruning. We will shape the bush, rake all clippings off the bush and collect and haul away the debris. Keep in mind that with this method if you want a certain shape this may have to be done over time. If you cut too far into these bushes there typically is not greenery underneath the outer shell.

Pull/ Trim Weeds

(Walking On Air Lawn Care is NOT Licensed to and will Not use chemicals for weed mitigation)

We can either pull and remove weeds from your property or trim them down to ground level to keep areas like irrigation ditches from looking unsightly and overgrown. Of course pulling weeds is the best option. This ensures there is no plant matter left to sprout or seed, creating a continuous problem. In some instances though when pulling weeds would be too costly or spraying is not an option (by a water source) we can use weed whackers to trim them down to ground level. This helps to keep weeds from seeding and multiplying and sometimes even kills the weeds completely.

Leaf/ Debris Removal

Is your lawn or flower beds full of sticks, leaves, and other debris? We will start by picking up any large sticks/ branches. Then we will blow out the flower beds into the lawn. Next we can either collect all the debris and haul it away, or we can mulch it up into your lawn to give it some extra nutrients. Due to disposal fees mulching will be the cheaper option especially when it comes to leaf cleanup in the fall.
